Brattleboro Retreat Tower

This tower was built by patients of the Vermont Asylum (Brattleboro Retreat) in 1887 and overlooks the grounds of the asylum. Manual labor was considered good for the mental stability of the patients. However, many patients were said to jump from the tower to commit suicide after its construction. The tower remains closed but can be found on the trail through the woods across from the Asylum.
